WHY BGT EXISTS
Ballroom Girl Talk exists to create space for the conversations people already have privately but rarely hear discussed publicly.
By exploring the realities of dance, performance, competition, relationships, and personal ambition, we hope to make people feel less alone in experiences they may have once felt they had to keep to themselves.
More than anything, we want BGT to connect the ballroom industry and create a community where dancers, teachers, competitors, students, and ballroom lovers can share experiences, hear different perspectives, and feel like they’re part of something bigger.
Because ballroom may be competitive—but it doesn’t have to feel isolating.

Amanda is a USA Professional Latin Finalist, international professional Latin competitor and performer, content creator, and social media personality.
American born and raised, Amanda discovered ballroom through the Pro/Am world before taking an unconventional path into a professional dance career. Starting later than many of her peers shaped the way she sees the industry—and gave her a perspective that proves there is no single path into ballroom.
Beyond the competition floor, Amanda has built an online community through her candid and entertaining take on dance, beauty, competition life, and everything happening behind the scenes.
Originally from New Zealand, Sarah began dancing at eight years old and has spent much of her life immersed in competition, performance, and the competitive ballroom world.
She is a USA Professional Latin Finalist, international professional Latin competitor and performer, studio owner, content creator, and social media personality.
As both a competitor and entrepreneur, Sarah brings together artistry, ambition, and a deep understanding of the dance industry. Whether she’s performing, teaching, running her studio, or sharing life behind the scenes, she is passionate about creating conversations that help dancers feel informed, inspired, connected—and a little less alone.

Plot twist: we definitely didn’t start as besties.
Amanda and Sarah met under circumstances that could probably only happen in ballroom.
Sarah began dating Amanda’s former dance partner, Nikolai—who would eventually become Sarah’s husband and professional dance partner.
What followed was a complicated chapter of changing partnerships, competition, relationships, and two women whose lives continued to overlap within the very small world of ballroom dancing.
For a long time, they were much closer to competitors than friends.
But years later, something unexpected happened.
They started talking.
And the more they talked, the more they realized how many shared experiences, opinions, stories, and conversations had been sitting underneath the surface all along.
That unlikely friendship eventually became Ballroom Girl Talk.
And yes… the full story of how Amanda and Sarah went from that to sitting on a couch spilling the tea together?
